After the discovery of oil in the city of Hurghada in the beginning of the last century and the increase in the number of wells produced in several areas such as (Nemra 1 and 10 and Dasha Dabah) and also the discovery of sulfur mines in the area of Jamshah, the process of transporting equipment was a nightmare to oil companies because of the lack of paved roads, Construction of a railway was necessary to transport this heavy equipment with large volumes of drilling equipment, pipes, power generators and others.

The United Kingdom (England) is the first country to establish a railway on its territory between the cities of Manchester and Liverpool in 1830, and Egypt is the second country to establish a railway on its territory during a contract between the Khedive Abbas I with the English son of the inventor of the iron locomotive worth 56 thousand pounds In 1854, the first locomotive between Cairo and Alexandria was running 209 kilometers. The vehicles crossed the Nile waters by ferries before constructing the iron bridges. The train stops at the arrival of the Nile branch. The passengers came down and crossed with ferries and waited on the other side until the train arrived. From time to time they would eat food and drink, then climb up the train and start again.

The establishment of railways became a part the English culture, where the establishment of lines in all the countries they colonized which formed the empire that never have a sunset and this was evident in India and the countries of Africa and South America, and Egypt's geographical location was the link between Europe and India.

At the beginning of the last century, the English company "Shell" established a railway line in the city of Hurghada between Al-Sakala and Dahar starting from the port of the ferry now or the oil scaffold as it was called at that time heading north on the land of the water station (Al-Yusr) then the final stop behind (Army base) where the big bunker is a warehouse of equipment and repair workshop built in the English style of corrugated iron.

The train is not like the big trains we know. It is a group of small vehicles, one of which is locked from the outside for the passengers and the rest is flat for the transport of goods and equipment. Each morning the train transfers the workers in the way to the port. Then the equipment is transferred to the company's warehouses at the end In the area of Dahar, and also to transport the supplies that came from the city of Suez on the deck of a boat called (Janira) owned by the company "Shell", which rests on the oil scaffold, and then transport these goods by car to the company's stores in the box located in the place of (Dahab Mall and Gad Restaurant and Egyptian Society 2000 ) nowadays. Then came the merchants of the city to collect their needs of grain and food supplies, hardware and vegetables and others, and was one of the most famous traders in the scaffold (Halawani - Mayor Saad Ali Saad) and Dahar (Salah Qabil - Kahil - Bahr Ahmadan - Mohammed Hussein Amer - Al-Assal, Shehata, Shafiq Joudeh, Nashid, Ja'bas, Abd Al-Laila Al-Sumairi, Al-Adaysa, Ahmed Awad, and others).
