The search for a method to preserve bread and food has led women of Ababda and Bisharia tribes to utilise natural materials of the local environment. To cater for their needs they have produced a small round box made with high skill measures from palm tree fronds. The approach adopted by women of Ababda and Bisharria was not merely to cater for a need but rather it reflects an awareness of the necessity to utilise natural materials of the local environment as well as a deep recognition of the local environmental context. This is evident in the harmonious design of the cover of basket, ornamented with natural leather
