This local product, Silky Desert Kilim, among many others, serves to illustrate the strong relationship between the Ababda tribes' women and their environment. The production process is relatively simple: natural lambs` wool is spun and then woven on a primitive basic loom. then dyed with colors..and mix with silky wools, What makes this product exceptional is that with such limited resources local women, through their inherited traditional skills, are able to reach such unique results, producing pieces of high aesthetic value, as well as a strong message that conveys a profound respect for the local environment: a source of existence and inspiration.
